Luca Sutto, Senior Partner and co-founder of PGA, currently works in the Lugano office of the Swiss branch of the firm.

During his career Luca had various positions acquiring significant experience and unique competences in the IP field.
From 1991 to 2001, Mr. Sutto worked in Milan at the headquarters of the IP law firm Bugnion S.p.A. In 2001, Mr. Sutto moved to Gambro, a multinational group manufacturing medical devices. At Gambro Mr. Sutto initially had the position of managing patent counsel working in Lyon (France) and Medolla (Italy); subsequently, Mr. Sutto took the position of Chief Patent Counsel – Ex Parte Affairs.

In January 2008, Mr. Sutto moved to Fish & Richardson LLP where he was one of the Principals of Fish & Richardson Munich office.
Although Luca matured extensive experience in all intellectual property aspects, in the last 15 years he mainly focused to patent matters mainly assisting multinational groups in managing their IP, dealing with complex cases and handling filing, prosecution, disputes and numerous opposition cases before the European patent office.

Luca has matured a unique expertise in the medical device industry and on a daily basis deals with complex legal aspects governing protection of invention in the medical field.
Luca regularly offers training in patent prosecution and opposition practices both internally and to customers or institutions external to PGA.
